The 2016 Tattooed Talent Show

The second annual Tattooed Talent Show was held again inside the Vancouver Tattoo & Culture Show.  After two busy days, GlassCity took the stage Sunday, at 1PM.

_MG_5267-2 We were so excited to announce that contestants would be taking home over $7000 in prizes! A HUGE THANK-YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPONSORS – it wouldn’t have been the same with out you!
(Full sponsor list below.)

The competition was produced by ziicka for the second year, and our very own Pennie Belle was on hand to act as stage kitty.

Dixie Delight joined us again to host the competition; with her big smile and bright presence, each contestant was given an introduction and interview before performing their act for the crowd and expert judges.
Sitting front and center, Jenny Magenta (Award winning performance artist. National Ballet of Canada/Man Up/more.),  Riannaconda (burlesque dancer/model/artist. Bonerattle Talent/GlassCity Collective), Samantha Mack (the XXX Comedian), and returning The Giles (Beerlesque).

Opening the acts was a surprisingly beautiful display of tiny craftsmanship; Mike Torok took the stage folding origami cranes to a light and capturing song by Tenzin Choegyal. An emotional effect on some, our host took a moment to collect oneself.

This act was voted CROWD FAVORITE. For a glimpse at that moment, click play, close your eye’s and just float.

Nitrous Star kicked the energy up with a flirty hoop dance. Christina Agulara in the air and a fun costume!

Inara Safir took the stage to perform belly dance. Flowy accents and good vibes.

Vivianne Oblivion weirded us out with sword swallowing, taking Third Place and one of the major prizes.

Last year’s 3rd place winner, Nathan St-Arnaud with Terra Kendama, returned to take Second Place in 2016. We are always amazed by this trick!

And taking First Place, was 15 year old Jada, who opened up with opera and belted out a rock tune after.

Congrats and thank-you to all our competitors.

We would also like to give a special thank-you to all of our 2016 sponsors, to Despayre FX for photography, and to Evilyn Thirteen for being a wonderful DJ!
